‘Game Changer’ box office collection Day 5: Ram Charan starrer crosses Rs 100 crore mark, earns more than Rs 10 crore on first Tuesday

It was a bright start to 2025 with Ram Charan and Kiara Advani hitting the popcorn at the box-office in their latest film ‘Game Changer’, a political drama movie that was being prepared for years, and when it finally made its way out, it turned out to be worth waiting for – at least, that’s what the box office says.

The film is currently in its opening week and it has crossed Rs. 100 crore in India across all languages with positive movie reviews Game Changer.

Sacnilk says based on the initial estimates, on Day 5 collection, the first Tuesday, "Game Changer" generated Rs. 10.19 Cr, with Telugu putting in Rs 6.3 Cr, Tamil adding Rs 0.95 Cr and Hindi adding 2.94 Cr. So far, it stands at Rs 106.34 Cr.

But that’s still a far cry from the film’s opening day haul of Rs 51 crore. The film did well in its second day but it could not match day 1’s earnings.

The film, though, looks like it’s about to pick up the pace. The initial collection on Monday was Rs 7.65 Cr, just shy of Rs 100 crore; on Tuesday the collection is increasing.

At the same time, the film is also on the wrong side of the debate. Over the weekend, ‘Game Changer’’ producers came under fire for over-reporting the film’s Day 1 Box Office performance. Initial box-office estimates pinned the film at Rs 80.1 crore globally on its opening day. But then the film’s social media platform revealed that Game Changer earnings are Rs 186 crore worldwide and people came out to criticise and make fun of it.

In this excerpt from the Hindustan Times review of the film: "Karthik Subbaraj has written Game Changer’s story; perhaps he intended it to be...something else. But the copy you receive, though amusing, sounds like a repetition of Shankar’s earlier publications – you get Muqabla and Mudhalvan (Oke Okkadu) references. And 2025, like in the 90s, you know he’s pushing the limits of reason."
